Keep Your System Safe from Data Loss
You’ve backed up your system. So you’re totally covered against data
loss, right? In order to protect your systems, here are four
commonly-missed areas that must be addressed:
1) FILES DELETED OVER A
NETWORK.
The Recycle Bin on Windows®
servers does not protect files deleted by users over a network. With
the vast amount of users’ data stored on servers, this is the biggest
data-loss trap of all.
2) FILES DELETED
BETWEEN BACKUPS.
Any backup system, no
matter how good, can’t protect files created, then deleted, between
backup sessions.
3) CORRUPT OR FAILED BACKUP
JOBS.
Backups are not 100%
perfect. If the job doesn’t run properly, you lose your ability to
recover those files.
4) FILES DELETED AT THE
COMMAND PROMPT.
Some people prefer to work
from the command prompt. The problem is that files deleted at the
command prompt aren’t protected by the Windows Recycle Bin.
No matter how carefully you back up your system, no matter how
careful you are, accidental file deletions happen—and invariably they
happen under the worst circumstances.
Fortunately, Peersync not only replicates
data but it replaces the Recycle Bin and captures all deleted files—including
files deleted over the network—Peersync fills
in the gaps and provides real-time data protection with instant recovery.
